Toddler Activity: Easter Craft!

March 5th, 2012
Easter Craft for Toddlers

How can I entertain my toddler this evening/weekend, is a question I have been faced with recently during this long, wet, cold, dark Pacific Northwest winter. I got this craft idea from a friend of mine. She buys these cute precut craft kits which cost only couple dollars but can entertain you and your toddler for a good hour or more.

The one you see above is “Nicole Kids” foam plate kit I picked up from Ben Franklin (can also find them at other stores like Micheal’s or Jo-Ann’s) and it cost only $1.49. It was both fun for my toddler and allowed us to spend quality time together.

Must read for parents with infant & toddler girls!

December 11th, 2011

If your child is happy and healthy one minute and suddenly starts crying in pain holding her diaper followed by a temperature, it’s most likely a urinary track infection(UTI). That’s exactly what happened to us when we were out on a holiday. Being first time parents and this happening to us for the first time was a terrifying experience. We quickly searched online for the symptoms our child had and learnt that it could be UTI. All of the readings suggested we take the child immediately to an emergency care preferably a children’s hospital. That’s exactly what we did.

When the doctor looked at her she confirmed that she did have UTI and said it was fairly common with baby girls using diapers having UTI than baby boys.(More reading here). We got her on antibiotics as quickly as possible and she responded very well after her first dosage.

I hope this article helps spread awareness among parents with young kids.

I just found this cute brand when I was shopping for an umbrella for my little one. They have matching rain boots, jackets, umbrellas and backpacks. They are priced reasonably and look real cute. I really liked the kitty cat umbrella so I ordered the whole set to go with it.

I did this quick watercolor a while ago when I saw my toddler having so much fun with fresh hot load of laundry. It is so entertaining to watch her remove all the clothes and then put them back in the basket and then do the same thing over and over with the same amount of enthusiasm.

My Turn!

September 12th, 2011

diaper change © 2001 Devi Brunsch

These days it takes about twenty to thirty minutes for my little one to wake up in the morning. She likes to snooze. And for the past couple days she would not let me change her diaper. She would go boneless if I tried to carry her to the changing table. So yesterday I lined up all her toys below the changing table and started to change their diapers and told my little one to wait her turn. So she quickly got off her bed and stood in line.  It was so darn cute. When I finished changing her toys she was so excited that it was her turn finally. My husband got a good laugh seeing the stuffed toys in diapers.
